About :

Dr. Amy Shipley grew up in Orlando, Florida and earned her undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University where she majored in molecular biology. She received her medical degree from Tulane University School of Medicine and completed her pediatric internship and residency at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego as an active duty Navy Pediatrician. She then served as one of only three pediatricians in a remote, but highly populated area of Washington state before deciding to leave the military and enter private practice. She is proud to have served in the military community, as well as experiencing life as a military spouse. As a result, Dr. Shipley was fortunate to practice pediatrics, including primary care and pediatric urgent care, in a wide variety of settings throughout the country. She and her family relocated to Northern Virginia in 2014 and she is delighted to finally settle down. She is a board-certified pediatrician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Shipley loves being a pediatrician and developing relationships with families as children grow. She is a busy mom of 4 children (including a set of triplets). She likes to travel and enjoys spending free time with her husband and children.
